Knappogue castle.Knappogue castle is a tower house which was originally constructed during the year 1467 however the structure was greatly expanded upon during the 1800s. The castle can be found located within the parish of Quin in County Clare, within the republic of Ireland. Today it proudly boasts fine refurbishment and is made open to the public. The original 14th century construction was built by a man named Sean Macnamara, and is a fine example of a tower house from the late medieval period. The castle’s name translates to “Castle of the place abounding in little hills”.
