Lough Eske Castle. Lough Eske Castle was originally constructed to the designs of one Fitzgibbon Louch, who was commissioned for the job by a man named Thomas Brooke. One of the primary contractors involved was one Albert Williams and the clerk of works was a Michael Stedman. The present edifice replaced earlier constructions which stood on the same site, which were built during the years 1621 and also in 1751. The building which stands today can be described as a castellated manor house, whos’ construction took place between the years 1859 and was finally completed during the year 1861.
